Norton Division

Roberts Division

Vincent Division

When you talk about Divisions at Moreton, most people ask, “What are they?” and, “Why do you do them?”  The first answer is simple; Divisions are inter-school competitions, our take on a competitive House system; designed to be fun and in groups of mixed ages.

The second answer is a little more complicated. “Why do we do them?” To answer this question, you have to see us in action. This is where friendships are formed, trust is won and the true spirit of Moreton shines through. Every student is involved in Divisions and every student supports and applauds their Division.

Every child knows how important it is to make friends in a new school as they settle in and get used to our ethos and staff. Divisions are where they feel included immediately. The child who may not be in the first team at Lacrosse, or appear centre stage in academic life find themselves cheered on by students in other year groups and their confidence grows. We see the dedication, grit and commitment that typifies a Moreton student, come into play in every Divisional Event. The shy student who is initially reluctant about putting themselves forward leads the way and different year groups work together as a coherent team. Confident sixth formers take a back seat and support the younger students, showing them how to succeed.

Divisions are where we come together and show what we are made of. This is why we are successful. This is how we are a community. This is Moreton.

"I was a student at Moreton from 2003 - 2015, which, at the time, made me the longest attending Moretonian ever."
