Drama

Moreton has a strong reputation in the performing arts: Music, Drama, Verse Speaking, Public Speaking and Debating in particular.

Drama is not only a compulsory part of the curriculum up to Year 9, but also a very popular subject at GCSE and A Level. Many students enjoy taking part in house competitions, school musicals and productions – including performing at the Edinburgh Festival. In addition to the Musgrave Theatre, we have a small studio theatre and an amphitheatre in the grounds and access to the new Holroyd Community Theatre

Drama For All

Ballet, Tap, Jazz and Modern Dance are well-attended activities, taught to examination level, but also challenging and stimulating extra-curricular disciplines.

We regularly have guest practitioners from the industry to hold workshops and talks with the pupils. These include theatrical agents, actors and casting directors.

The school’s excellent Music and Drama means that Moreton Hall is well represented in Performing Arts institutions including RADA and the Guildhall School of Music. We have pupils who attend the National Youth Theatre after being prepared for the audition process at Moreton Hall.
