Societies & Activities
“A Moretonian is confident and joyful. Learning at Moreton is a pleasure and opens up so many opportunities for life. Every child should experience the Moreton Magic!”

– Parent

Our extensive list of societies and activities reflect Moreton’s ethos of innovation and discovery and is a critical part of what Moreton has to offer its pupils. From ecology and current events to outdoor adventures, music, drama and science, Moreton caters to a wide range of interests through our many societies and clubs.

Many of our clubs are student-initiated, such as the Magna Carta Society which examines current events and human rights, and others are long-standing societies, such as our academic enrichment societies, which open our doors and invite the world to Moreton.

Here is a sampling of the clubs currently on offer; they may change to reflect pupils’ interests:

Academic Enrichment

Set alongside our academic programme is Moreton’s vibrant enrichment programme which aims to provide pupils with an education that is as broad as it is deep.

Every week leading professionals from across a wide range of fields share their expertise with Moretonians through talks and masterclasses. By sparking intellectual curiosity, broadening horizons and setting aspirations high, our enrichment programme extends our students’ learning beyond the usual expectations of the current exam system.

These are Moreton’s longest-standing societies, led by our Principal’s Scholars. While these are designed mainly for Senior School and Sixth Form students, we also offer a Junior Enrichment programme for younger pupils in Years 6 – 8.

Lady Barbirolli Society:

Celebrating all forms of music, Barbirolli offers pupils coaching through a series of guest lectures and masterclasses by professional musicians.

Bronwen Society

Encouraging intellectual curiosity, Bronwen lectures develop critical-thinking skills and deepen understanding of areas covered by examination boards.

Jenner Society:

Jenner supports those interested in pursuing careers in medicine by introducing them to a broad range of medical fields through guest lectures and workshops by medical professionals.

Skills for Life

In addition to traditional programmes such as the Duke of Edinburgh Award and the Combined Cadet Force, Moreton offers several bespoke programmes that ignite interests and build skills for life, ensuring that Moretonians strive confidently into their future.
